Job Requirements

  1. Professional demeanor and positive attitude
  2. Experience in landscaping, construction or general labor preferred but not required
  3. Stamina to lift and carry heavy items (50 lbs or more) repeatedly, kneeling, crouching, walking, etc.
  4. Good hand-eye coordination
  5. Valid driver’s license and good driving record preferred but not required
  6. Must have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Expectations

  • Reports directly to Field Manager
  • Oversees 2-3 direct reports (Crew Technicians)
  • Fosters positive morale and good attendance of the crew members
  • Trains Crew Technicians in safety measures and equipment usage as needed
    • ie. riding lawn mowers, walk-behind lawn mowers, weed-whackers, backpack blowers, garden tools, snow blowers
  • Encourages crew members to look presentable and take pride in their work
  • Implements scoped tasks while on jobsites, collaborates with Crew Technicians, and informs Field Manager(s) of progress
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Responsible for

  • Leadership & Supervision
    • Direct, train, and motivate crew members to perform landscape tasks to company quality standards.
    • Assign daily duties, monitor progress, and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
  • Project Execution
    • Execute landscape installation and maintenance tasks, including planting, mulching, pruning, mowing, edging, hardscape installation, and seasonal cleanups.
    • Ensure jobs are completed on schedule and within budget.
    • Communicate with clients and supervisors regarding project updates and issues.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce safety policies and procedures; ensure crew members use PPE and equipment correctly.
    • Conduct daily jobsite safety checks and address hazards immediately.
    • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
  • Equipment & Materials
    • Operate trucks, trailers, mowers, blowers, trimmers, and other landscape equipment safely.
    • Perform basic equipment maintenance and report major issues to the mechanic/manager.
    • Track and manage materials used on each project.

  • Good attendance, consistent work ethic and looking presentable
  • Continuously improving operational performance, by attending regular training opportunities and apprenticing under the Crew Leader
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Responsible for

  • Operating company equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
  • Organization and cleanliness of the crew vehicle, trailer, sheds and warehouse
  • Performing a wide range of landscaping tasks to ensure the highest quality service on commercial and residential properties, including but not limited to the following:
    • Landscape Installation & Maintenance
      • Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod according to design plans
      • Perform mulching, edging, pruning, and weeding
      • Install hardscape features such as pavers, retaining walls, and edging (as assigned)
      • Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other hand/power tools
      • Assist with grading, drainage, and soil preparation
    • Equipment & Safety
      • Properly operate and maintain landscape tools, machinery, and vehicles
      • Follow all company safety standards and report hazards or needed repairs immediately
      • Assist with loading/unloading materials, tools, and equipment daily
    • Teamwork & Professionalism
      • Work collaboratively with crew members to complete jobs efficiently.
      • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude with clients and coworkers.
      • Communicate clearly with Crew Leader and follow instructions
